The Dead Weather : this is the last band I discovered.
A long time friend of mine just talked about it last week in a bar, and when we listened to it, I instantly liked their music.
It’s yet another project with Jack White.
This time he’s playing with Alison Mosshart (of The Kills and Discount), Dean Fertita (of Queens of the Stone Age) and Jack Lawrence (of The Raconteurs and The Greenhornes).
Very nice and powerful sound.
Listen to it, and let me know if you like it.
Finally, here’s the third spotify fave, after two weeks forgetting to select, and post one…
Soooo, this week, I’ll be posting something unusual for me: a flamenco band !
Some of you may know that I grew up in Barcelona from 9 to 17 years old.
While I was there, I never really liked flamenco music. Well, I think I found a band that makes me like flamenco.
Well, it’s not actually traditional flamenco, they call it fusion flamenco …
Whatever, Ojos de Brujo is some kind of collective band, based in Barcelona, formed in the 90’s.
They released their first Album in 1999, and released many nice things.
The album I really like is the last one: Aocana.
I love Quentin Tarantino movies’ original soundtracks.
The guy not only makes awesome movies, he also knows how to put a soundtrack together.
Hi has an extensive music taste, and creates unique ambiances in his movies.
The one I’m loving at the moment, is Inlougious Basterds’ OST.
I really recommend this one to whoever likes Tarantino’s musical universe.
I love music. I can’t play it, but I couldn’t live without access to music.
I couldn’t work without music playing in my headphones.
Spotify is one of the best things I tried in the last months.
This stream service is just what I needed. No need to rip my CD’s in mp3, no need to keep Gb of mp3’s on my hard drive.
It’s the perfect place to listen to my favourite bands, and to discover new stuff.
I’ll be posting my favourite album/artist of the week here.
And for starters, I’ll post the last album of Basement Jaxx: Scars.
Basement Jaxx: Scars
It has been released in july 2009, and I kinda like it a lot !
I used to listen to Basment JAxx, always loved the way the bringed people together on their tracks.
On this album, you’ll hear tracks featuring Kelis, Yoko Ono, Amp Fiddler and many more.
